This package is a highlight of Nepal encompassing sightseeing in Kathmandu, hike to Namche Bazaar with Everest and Lhotse vistas, white water rafting adventure on Trishuli River, Chitwan National Park jungle safari and the visit to Lumbini the world heritage site of major cultural and archaeological significance and the birthplace of Lord Buddha. This package has been designed for school group interested to combine adventure with the cultural experience.
We will take you on an exhilarating flight to Lukla(2840m); we will trek from there to Namche Bazaar(3446m), an ancient trading hub for yak caravans travelling between Tibet and Nepal. At Namche we will have the opportunity to visit Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation School in Khumjung, Khumjung monastery and Hillary museum. We catch the Everest vista from Everest View Hotel. During this segment of the trip you can learn and experience the following: Himalayan geography, Sherpa culture, elements of Buddhism, high altitude medicine, trekking experience, remote location experience, interaction with different non-threatening and non-confronting cultures, mountaineering history.
We will take you on two days river rafting adventure and for the jungle safari to Chitwan National Park, where you can see, ride and play with elephants. During this segment of the trip you can learn and experience the following: rafting and kayaking skills, jungle ecology, cultural experience, elements of geography and geology,
Finally you will experience spiritual dimension to Buddhism by visiting Lumbini the birthplace of Lord Buddha and significant 2500 years old archaeological site recognized by UNESCO as the world heritage significant site. During this segment of the trip you can learn and experience the following: Buddhist philosophy and mythology, archaeology, history, geography, observe different cultures.
Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu(1400) Airport and transfer to Hotel
Day 02:We will take an exhilarating 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla(2840) and trek to Phakding(2800) slowly to avoid high elevation complications; it will take us about 4hrs.
Day 03:Today we will trek to Namche Bazaar(3446) slowly to preserve energy for tomorrow activities and to avoid high altitude complications, it will be approximately 7 hrs walk.
Day 04:We will start activities very early today, waking-up at 5am. After breakfast we want to take 2 hrs walk to famous Everest View Hotel (3800) for a great vista of Everest; we will also visit Hilary museum, Sherpa museum and Kumjung Hillary High School. We will stay at Namche Bazar for the second night.
Day 05:Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyngboche(3870) this takes about four hours. We will gain about 430m of elevation but we are facing a steep and long ascend just before Tyngaboche. The walk is very rewarding with magnificent vistas in particularly when we reach the monastery.
Day 06:Today we have another long day but mostly downhill; we walk from Tengboche to Manjo(2808), what takes about six hours
Day 07:Today we walk form Mojo to Lukla (2840) in about five hours of very pleasant walk through colorful Khumbu villages.
Day 08:Today we take a exhilarating flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel and have rest of the day for the leisure, shopping in Thamel and personal discovery.
Day 09:We drive from Kathmandu along picturesque highway down to Trishuli River Gorge to Charaundi, where we start our rafting adventure on Trishuli River. This is the most challenging day as we will negotiate a number rapids. Tonight we will camp at Kurintar on a sandy beach of the Trishuli River. All are encouraged to get involved in the camp activities to help the crew to set-up tents, to make our camp comfortable and to create to atmosphere of camp camaraderie.
Day 10:Second day rafting will be more leisurely as the river is not as challenging as on first day. We spend the whole day within forested canyon, typical of many in the Mahabharat range. We have lunch along the way and will have time to explore, do bird watching, photographing and learning about the local people. In the afternoon we change back to our vehicle for drive to Chitwan National park for jungle safari program. The safari program includes many activities conducted over two days. Park rangers will schedule all activities. We finish the day enjoying sunset over the river and stay overnight in the jungle resort.
Day 11:Day two of the jungle safari activities will include elephant bathing, elephant riding and the opportunity to close encounters with these magnificent and highly intelligent creatures. You will be able to come close to the elephant and interact with them including touching and patting. You will be amazed with their dexterity, gentleness and intelligence. You will be able to bathe in the river with the elephant. While riding elephants through the jungle we will hope to see rhinos, maybe tigers, dears, giant pythons and more. Rangers also arrange other activities such as nature walks, canoeing and bird watching. We will spend second night in the jungle resort.
Day 12:After breakfast we say goodbye to Chitwan and take the bus to Lumbini. We visit Maya Devi temple, the archaeological reserve of Buddha’s birthplace including Lumbini Gardens, where Buddha conducted his teachings; we will also see Asoka Pillar and a number of other Buddhist related monuments; we will take the rickshaw ride to visit the monastic district. We will stay overnight in Lumbini.
Day 13:We will catch morning flight back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel in Thamel, with which you should be familiar. After lunch we will take you on walking tour to nearby Durbar Square.
Day 14:We will take on interesting sightseeing day in Kathmandu visiting Kapan monastery and significant temples and gompas of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Swayambhunath. We will conclude your Adventure and Cultural Primer Tour of Nepal with a Farewell dinner.
Day 15:After breakfast we’ll arrange transfer to the airport for your flight or alternatively you can join another tour.
