Bhotekoshi River Rafting
"Bhote" is translated as "river from Tibet”. This Bhote kosi is the main branch of the sun Koshi and it has been descended by kayak from near the Tibetan border at Kodari. The rafting site is located only three hours from Kathmandu. The Bhote Kosi is known as the River from Tibet and you can start a trip after a peak over the border into Tibet. It has the majestic view of himalayas as well as Spectacular scenery. It is also known as one of the finest stretches of white water in the world. It is the steepest river rafted in Nepal and required a lot of concentration. Starting above Barabise, you raft down to the dam at Lamosangu. The upper Bhote Koshi the Sun Koshi near Bahrabise. The lower Bhote Koshi rafting starts right from Lamosangu, where the Arniko Highway and the road to Jiri join.
You will start your journey from Kathmandu by private bus towards the Tibetan border. Then you will make a short tea stop at Dolalghat. After two hours drive from Dolaghat you will have your lunch and at noon it will take you at your campsite. On second day you will wake up to the sound of the roaring river and a choice of a hot or cold breakfast. Then you enter a narrow canyon and on to the Midnight Special, a gun barrel of a rapid which slams you up against a wall. Then you hit the river at the same point we rafted the day before and yet enjoy the same ride once again. Lunch en-route the river and continue the action until we reach out-point Dolalghat Bazaar. Then drive back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary Details of Bhotekoshi River Rafting

Day 01: A 95 km spectacular drive from Kathmandu to the starting point Lomosangu Dam. We raft the first 10 km of the MOST exciting stretch of the river and then drive back to the starting point to play again the same stretch the next day. Lunch and camp.

Day 02: After breakfast we hit the river at the same point we rafted the day before and yet enjoy the same ride once again. Lunch en-route the river and continue the action until we reach out-point Dolalghat Bazaar. Then drive back to Kathmandu.
