Congratulation to the Manaslu Summiteers from Snowy Horizon Expedition!!!

The two members of Snowy International Manaslu Expedition –autumn 2012 team were finally able to approach to the Summit of Mt. Manaslu (8163) on Monday the 1st October 2012, early morning.

MS Heather Mcwalter, the team leader from United Kingdom and Mr. Tatsuo Matsumoto, team member from Japan had reached to the summit of Mt. Manaslu. They had attempted Mt. Manaslu showing their braveness and confidence even though there have been huge disaster due to avalanches between camp 4 to camp 2 with heavy casualties of Climbers other than the Snowy Horizon’s team last Sunday the 23rd September 2012.

All climbing members and the crews were safe and secure in that serious incident in the route of Mt. Manaslu Expedition from Snowy International Team. Some of our climbing members had withdrawn the mission; however the two climbers had made their history to succeed in Manaslu Climbing Summit on 1st of October 2012 with the Snowy Horizon Expedition Management. Manaslu Avalanche: 11 has lost their life, 18 injured and some still missing

24th September 2012: 07:00 AM
The autumn 2012 Mt. Manaslu Expedition organized by various operators has been affected by the huge (Snow slide) avalanche in the mountain on Sunday morning. According to the latest news 14 injured climbers are under treatment in Manaslu Base Camp and 7 seriously injured carried out by helicopter in Kathmandu, amongst 3 of them found dead. Until now, dead body of two foreigners and 1 Nepali has arrived in Kathmandu. Due to bad weather the mission of rescue has been affected and the sources say that it will continue from early of this morning. Simrik Air, Fishtail Air and Mountain Helicopter Company have been involving in the rescue mission from private sector. Yet the rescue team of Nepal Government is not reported in the place of incident.

All 13 climbers and 9 climbing crews of “Snowy International Manaslu Expedition -Autumn 2012” organized by Snowy Horizon Treks and Expedition are completely safe and secure in Manaslu Base Camp and are co-operating for further rescue mission………………………………………

Natural Disaster Occurred in Mt. Manaslu (8163m) Camp 3-4 Caused Heavy Casualty!!!

06:45 PM, 23rd September:

About 25 climbers and climbing crews are affected in this serious avalanche in Mt. Manaslu Camps today. Total 13 of them are rescued by helicopter to Kathmandu. Among them 11 are Foreigners and 2 are Nepali. One Nepali and 7 foreigners are rescued with 5 dead bodies, the helicopter sources say. 12 Climbers including some climbing Sherpas are still missing. The rescue operation taking place is underway and due to unbearable weather condition people are facing difficult circumstances while helping the sufferer.  According the sources from Mt. Manaslu Base Camp near Samagaun, the suffering organizer companies are, Thamsherku Treking, Himalayan Guide, Expe.com, 7 summits, Prestige Adventure, Cho –Oyu Trek etc., however the news is not authenticate yet by the Government of Nepal, Tourism Ministry.

All 13 climbers and 09 climbing crews are completely safe in Manaslu Base Camp and are co-operating for rescue mission………………………………………

23rd September
The first team of Mt. Manaslu Expedition is suffered by heavy avalanche between camp 3 and camp 4. The sources said that the team aimed for summit to Mt. Manaslu on Sunday the 23rd September 2012 in the morning at 04:00 hrs. Huge avalanche between camps 3 to 4 with the storm compelled to the climbers to suffer a heave casualty the sources said. Rescues by other group of climbers and climbing crews from camp 2 are underway. A reliable source informs us that about 6 dead bodies are rescued and 15-20 others are missing till 10 am this morning in the incident.  The landslide from camp 3 came up to camp 2 and besides 8 tents everything are floating up to camp 2 from camp 3, the source said. The season of Baruntse (7129) Expedition is close to your threshold. Snowy Horizon Expedition is operating the Expedition of Mt. Baruntse from 4th of October till 5th of November 2012 as a fixed departure schedule. This is an International Expedition Event and anyone interested climber may request us to join in the team. The last date to admit in this “Baruntse International Expedition Autumn 2012” is up to 25th September 2012. Hence we offer this opportunity to all interested climbers to join the event. The climber should arrive in Kathmandu at least on 2nd April 2012. Alternative Expedition for Cho-Oyu and Shishapangma

Snowy Horizon was supposed to organize Cho-Oyu and Shishapangma expedition in autumn 2012. We had sufficient climbers confirmed for the trip. However, the China-Tibet Mountaineering Association (CTMA) and the Government of China denied issuing the climbing permits for any of the mountains within Tibet in this autumn and we are reinforced to find and purpose the alternative expedition comparatively similar and easier to climb the initial 8000er peaks. Everest Expedition group flew from Kathmandu

Satori Adventure Everest Expedition South Face 2012 team with all together 12 expedition members has left Kathmandu for Everest climbing. Snowy Horizon Managing Director Mr. Rishi Bhandari has greeted them on airport for farewell. He wishes them for successful summit of Mt. Everest.
