We had a small size group of Makalu Expedition in this spring. The expedition project was started on 15th April 2013 and ended at about 1st week of June. The 3 members of Snowy International Makalu Expedition spring 2013 had committed the success only with one third values, i.e. only one member of the team could reach to the summit (8463m) of Mt. Makalu. Mr. Samuli Mika Mansikka from Finland was the brave person who had successfully reached to the summit, the top of Mt. Makalu in his personal effort.

He was one of the members of our Mt. Makalu Expedition Team and the climber repeatedly of our regular client, one of the happiest climbers with Snowy Horizon camp management in base camps as well as high camps. Mr. Tatsuo Matsumoto, a Japanese climber lives in Brazil, who was also one of the summiteers of Mt. Manaslu last autumn organized by Snowy Horizon, was our second member of the Expedition.

In spite of only one climbing success, the Snowy International Makalu Expedition spring 2013 was ended with success in terms of the management side. All climbing members and crews had returned their home with safe and secure. The logistics, equipments, transportation, accommodation and meals were more than expected as per the report of the team members.

Snowy Horizon Congratulates to Mr. Samuli Mansikka for his successful climbs once again and to all involved members for being part of Snowy Horizon’s Mission!!!
