Chitwan National Park is situated in the Southern part of Nepal which called Terai which is biggest and famous National park for flora and fauna. The first national park of Nepal and 'World Heritage Nature Site' declared by UNESCO is covering an area of 932 sq. It is home for most endangered Royal Bengal tiger, great one horned rhinoceros, leopard, gaurs as well as sloth bear, monkeys, varieties of deer’s, crocodiles and more than 500 different species of colorful rear birds.

Among the activities in the park is the boating or canoeing trip in the Rapti Rivers. This is one of the more serene ways to explore the area as float downstream with the river's flow. On the out skirts of Chitwan you can the Tharu community, and see their artistically decorated thatched huts, their typical dance and how they manage life next to the national park.
The best time to visit Chitwan National Park is from October through March, when the temperature averages 25 degrees Celsius. The months of March, April and June can be extremely hot, while July - September is the monsoon season when river swell and part of the park become inaccessible.
By air: Daily flights from Kathmandu to Bharatpur airfield. Chitwan is also served by Meghauli airfield. The rest of the journey is by road on private or tourist coach.
Land Transport: A pleasant four-five hour drive is a good means of seeing more of the country and reaching Chitwan at the end of the journey. The road goes over and follows the Trishuli River most of the way. An exciting means of reaching Chitwan is by rafting down the Trishuli River is also highly recommended.
By raft: One of the most exciting ways to travel to the park is to raft down the Trishuli River. After one or two days you can float down the river experiencing its numerous rapid and seeing a variety of village life, flora and fauna along its banks.
Binoculars, Flashlight, Insect repellent, A jacket or sweater from November through February. Summer clothes are recommended with sunglasses and hats from April onwards. Pants should be worn during elephant rides. Bright colors such as red and white should be avoided since those colors have been known to upset the rhinos. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. Please carry only the bare necessities but not jewellery and valuable items. During the warmer months swimming suits are recommended.
Besides the rhinos and tigers there are sloth bears, wild boar, gaur (bison), 4 species of deer, 2 species of monkeys, 2 species of crocodiles, leopard, wild cats; a large variety of reptiles and over 500 species of birds. Apart from jungle safari, there are many places of interest within the park such as the Elephant Breeding Centre and Crocodile Farm where these animals have been successfully breeding in captivity.
Elephant’s safari is one of the most popular activities in Chitwan National park in outside and inside the park. Of the two Elephant-breeding centers s that exists in the world one lies in the chitwan National park. In Nepal, the Elephant is quickly becoming one of the most endangered animals and the center was established to increase its numbers. You have the opportunity to visit the center, learn about the efforts to increase the pachyderm population and see several cow elephantine their calves. You will see lots of baby elephants socializing with their parents another calf’s. You may found two Types of Crocodile found in Nepal, The Gharial is more common then the Marsh Mugger.
