Druk path Trek is wonderfully scenic high-altitude walk accesses in the remote alpine lakes, yak herders and boasts views of Bhutanese Himalayas. For most part, it follows the traditional mule route between Thimphu and Paro. Because it departs or ends in Paro or Thimphu, it logistics make it a great choice as an add-on to any cultural tour of Bhutan. The Druk Path Bhutan is an excellent short trek, ideal for those who are in Bhutan only for a short duration due to many reasons.

During your Adventure Druck path trekking trail you climb above the tree-line and cross several passes. En route, you camp beside clear mountain lakes, visit yak herders encampments and enjoy splendid panoramas of the peaks .In clear weather there are magnificent views of the high Snowy cap Himalayan peaks. The Druk Path trek can be done in all seasons, but the best times are spring from October to November.

Although Druk Path strenuous route is sparsely inhabited, the area is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests, which bloom in May. In the clear weather of late autumn and winter there are great views of the Himalayas. Besides the lakes, it is the Phadjoding monastery that is one of the highlights point to visit of this trek.

Druk Path Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Paro. 2250M. (/D)

A flight to Paro is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights. You will be received by our representative and escorted to the hotel. Afternoon visit to Ta-Dzong built in the 17th century, as watchtower to defend Paro Dzong below. This Ta-Dzong was converted into the National Museum in 1968, and it is filled with antique Thangka paintings, textiles, weapons and Armour. Driver to the Rinpung Dzong built in the 17th century to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders.

Day 02: Begin trek from Paro to Jele Dzong (B/L/D)

After breakfast Drive from hotel in Paro, to the trail head near Ta Dzong museum and begin trekking and trek to Jele Dzong this takes about 4-5 hour trek uphill ascending 1050m. Camp at 3570m. Overnight at tent.

Day 03: Trek to Jangchulakha (B/L/D)

Trek from Jele Dzong to JangchulakhaVisit Jeli Dzong and trek along the ridges with the views of Paro’s side valleys. Which is 10km distance from Jele Dzong and it takes about 05 hours trek and camp at 3760m elevation. Overnight at tent.

Day 04: Trek to Jimilangtso lake (B/L/D)

Trek from Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso lake which is 10km distance from Jangchulakha and this takes about 04 hours and camp near the lake at 3870m elevation. Overnight at tent.

Day 05: Trek to Simkota lake (B/L/D)

Trek from Jimilangtso lake to simkota lake. Climb up gradually up to 4150m and descend to your camp site at 4110m overlooking another lake. Which is 11km distance from Jimilangtso and it takes about five hours trekking. Overnight at tent.

Day 06: Trek to Phajoding (B/L/D)

Trek from Simkota lake to Phajoding Gradually trek up hill and climb to Labanla pass at 4210m, after which the trail makes a long and steep descent past Thujidrag to Phajoding. The campsite is near the hermitages and monasteries at 3750m. Which is 09Km distance and it takes about 05 hours trekking .Overnight at tent.

Day 07: End with the trek to Thimphu (B/L/D)

Trek from Phajoding to Motithang . After visiting the temples and monasteries in Phajoding, walk downhill which is 5km distance and it takes about three hours. Our vehicle is waiting for you on the ending point and drive to Thimphu. Leisure and explore around the city.Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 08: Full Day Sightseeing and explore in Thimpu Valley (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will be process to sightseeing in Thimphu valley including visit National Library, housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts; Later visit Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, a fascinating testimony of the Bhutanese material culture and living traditions. After lunch service in Thimpu we process to visit King's Memorial Chorten continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels. Then, visit the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops.After City sightseeing transfer Paro overnight at paro.

Day 09: Final Departure or alternatively join other program (B)

after early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the airport for flight to your onward destination. Our representative will help you with exit formalities in Paro airports.
