Gosainkunda Lake lies in Langtang region. This Gosainkunda trek takes you to the Gosainkunda, the holy lake has gained its reputation among both the Hindus and the Buddhists. The lake is visited every year by thousands of visitors during the full- moon night in August. Hindu mythology says- when the God churned the primordial ocean to produce elixir of eternal life, the poison was also produced along with the elixir. To save the universe from this poison, Lord Shiva drank it.
Hence, the throat of Lord Shiva is still blue due to the effect of the poison. To cool down his burning throat, Lord Shiva struck his trident into the rock creating three springs which ultimately resulted in the formation of beautiful lakes. Finally, Lord Shiva drank the water of the lakes and got rid of the pain. Hence, in this process, the lake Gosainkunda was formed.

Itinerary Details of Gosainkunda Trek
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and Transfer to hotel (1350m).
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche(1660m) North of Kathmandu.You may drive destination to by either local bus or land cruiser(private vehicle ) via Trishuli River which takes approximately seven hours .
Day 03: Trek from Dhunche to Shin Gumpa (3330m),This takes approximately five hours.
Day 04: Trek from Shin Gumpa to Lauribinayak(3910m) This takes approximately five hours.
Day 05: Trek from Lauribinayak to Goshainkunda(438m) This takes approximately five hours.
Day 06: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte(3430m)via Laurebina pass(4610m) This takes approximately five hours.
Day 07: Trek form Ghopte to tarkghyang (2600m) via Thadepati Bhanjyang This takes approximately seven hours.
Day 08: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Kalanki(2070m) and Drive to Kathmandu by bus or private vehicles and transfer to hotel.
Day 09: Full Day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley (DurbarSquare, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath & Pashupatinath) and Nepalese cultural program with farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 10: Final departure ,or alternative Join other activities
