Helambu Valley Trek has been considered as one of the nearest trek from Kathmandu. The trek offers considerable spectacular views of mountains, meadows, forests, different wild animals, birds, glaciers and many more. Cheese factories, monasteries, and other monuments are other specialties of this trek. Helambu, about 72 kilometers north-east of Kathmandu, is noted for its scenic grandeur and pleasant climate. The additional attractions of the trek are the spectacular views of the Langtang (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m) and other small mountains of Langtang Himalayan range.
The warm and friendly people of Helambu are mostly Buddhists. We also find many Buddhist Monasteries, unique and enchanting landscape, dense rhododendron forest and age-old traditional culture. There is a mountain pass above Helambu through the lakes of Gosainkunda reaching the valley of Langtang. Gosaikunda lake itself is situated at 4,380 meters. It is sacred to Lord Shiva and every summer there throng thousands of Hindu devotees to take a holy dip into the waters of the holy lake. Nearby are other lakes including Nagkunda, Bhairavkunda, Saraswatikunda and Suryakunda. The trek passes through a varied landscape ranging from evergreen forests, cascading waterfalls and turbulent streams to sub-alpine grasslands and stark, beautiful mountainsides. Langtang valley stretches north of Gosainkunda . One travels through pristine forests to the village of Ghoda Tabela, then the valley opens out into a high, Himalayan river plain full of beautiful camping sites, spectacular peaks and wide glaciers. One can hike to the back of the valley or take numerous optional trips to explore glacier-filled side canyons.

Itinerary Details of Helambu Valley Trek
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel(1350m),
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal(1350m), trek to Chisapani (2300m)via Pati Bhanjyang (1768m) This takes approximately five hours
Day 03: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2450M) via Golphu Bhanjyang, which takes approximately five hours.
Day 04: Trek from Kutumsang to Tharepati Bhanjyang,(3690m) via Mangengoth, which takes approximately seven hours.
Day 05: Trek from Tharepati Bhanjyang to Tarkeghyang (2600m) via melamchingaon,from where you can see view of Dorje Lakpa, Gaurishankar, Langshisa, Jugal himal.it takes approximately six hours.
Day 06: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Talamarang (960m),via kakani which takes approximately five hours.
Day 07: Trek from Talamarang to Melamchi(870m) and then drive to kathmandu ,Transfer ho hotel .
Day 08: Full Day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley (DurbarSquare, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath & Pashupatinath) and Nepalese cultural program with farewell dinner in the evening.
