High School Adventure Excursions

Snowy Horizon Treks & Expedition offers high school adventure excursions with a difference. Within our programs we offer to high school students the adventure bundled with the practical education in geography, history, exotic cultures, physical skills and exercise. We work with individual schools and tailor the school trip program in accordance with the school requirements, budgets and educational needs. This is our new program for 2011 and it is currently being piloted in Australia through our Brisbane Office.

We welcome all inquiries from teachers, parents as well as students. We have established a special email address schools@trekkingagencynepal.com for inquires regarding our school program.
We assist schools with preparation of students including physical fitness; we can aid geography and history teachers and excursion coordinator with a range of logistics.

We can facilitate contact with local schools and youth groups in Nepal to maximize educational aspects of the excursion. Our program represents great opportunity for teachers to explore alternative ways of education and maybe to inspire 'Dead Poets Society' through the Himalayan experience. We are very flexible in working with schools and invite collaboration to make such a program a success.

Most of people visiting Nepal come to experience dramatic scenery of the highest mountains in the world and to experience a close-up to the giant, the Everest, to experience its awe even if only observing it from 5000m instead of standing on its summit. Such a trip is an inspiration and a life changing experience for anybody and in particularly for young people, by exposing them to the environment of adventure, exotic but extremely colourful, respectful, welcoming and tolerant culture, and practical outdoor education. This would be the trip of the lifetime for any student and it is probably the biggest educational gift a school can offer to a student.

A trip to have a close glimpse on Everest is available in many grades from easy Everest view to the moderate Everest base camp trek with magnificent vistas from Kalapatther and the experience with Sherpa Buddhist culture. These are usually combined with a white water rafting adventure through deep river gorges, jungle safari and cultural experience so different and fascinating to western mindsets.
