Kusum Kanguru Peak Climbing (6,367m)

6367m tall Kusum Kanguru dominates the southern end of dramatic Kyashar Himal six thousands range of peaks, with Kyashar 6770m, Kangtega 6685m, and Thamserku 6608m. Kusum Kanguru meaning literally in Tibetan ‘Three Snow Peaks’ consists of three summits East Summit Kusum Kanguru 6358m, Main Summit Kusum Kanguru 6367m and much smaller West Kusum Kanguru Summit 5579m. It is one of the most challenging of trekking peaks with no easy routes, mixed rock and ice climbing. There are two approaches to climbing Kusum Kanguru from south via Hinku valley and from north from Monje via Kyashar Khola valley.

The view from the summit is stunning on Mera peak, Makalu, Everest summit and spectacular cirque formed by Kyashar Himal peaks.

Four ridges radiate from the Main summit mainly north, northeast, west and southeast. There are 3 climbing possibilities from north via northeast ridge to the East summit, via north ridge and via northwest face. From south the major possibility is via southeast ridge.

Testimonials

Naya Kanga Peak Climbing 07th March-2011

Naya Khanga Peak climbingI planned to climb Naya Kanga Peak in March and Snowy Horizon helped me a lot - I got a great guide who has done an impressive List of ascents of high mountains. He was a real fighter when it came to struggle against a hell lot of snow - yet we had to give in before reaching the High Camp. Anyway, this hasn't been the fault of anybody involved. I had a good time, felt safe and secure and can recommend Snowy Horizon to anybody who looks for a challenge in Nepal Himalaya. I would like to many thanks Mr. Rishi Bhandari and his company working team.... .Read More
