Muktinath Darshan Yatra
Muktinath temple is famous temple of Lord Vishnu lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 kms northeast of Jomsom in the north central part of Nepal, at an altitude of about 3750 meters. Named after highly referred Muktinath shrine the valley is one of religious place in Nepal for both Hindus and Buddhist. Hindus call it Muktichhetra (Place of salvation). Many Shaligrams found here are considered by Hindu as incarnation of lord Vishnu and worship them. Similarly Buddhist calls this valley the Chumig Gyatsa (Place of 108 waterspouts).
There are many ways to reach Muktinath. Either take a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom or hike for 7-8 hours from Jomsom or trek all the way from Pokhara through Kali-Gandaki valley, which takes 7/8 days. Helicopter services are also available from Pokhara & Kathmandu. There has a trekking route one of famous trekking trail called Jomsom - Muktinath Trek. Itinerary Details of Muktinath Drashan Yatra

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) which takes about five to seven hours. You depart early morning at 7 o’clock for the drive by tourist deluxe bus or by private car/van/haice to Pokhara (915m.), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes. Hotel accommodation in 3 star level hotels with BB base in Pokhara at lakeside, the most touristic site.
Day 02: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom (2713 m.) about 20 minute after having (or pack) breakfast at hotel/Jomsom and Jeep drive to Muktinath via Kagbeni (2895 m.) for about one and half hours , praise in Muktinath temple and jeep drive back to Jomsom for overnight accommodation in best available hotel/guest house.
Day 03: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara which takes about 20 minutes. The flights are available during the morning time. The strong breeze blows during the day and after frequent change of the weather prevents the flight being landed and taken off in the afternoon. During the flights in the morning, the sky looks very clear which makes you able to enjoy the splendid views of different mountain peaks. Drive from Pokhara airport to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus/car/van/haice, which takes about five-seven hours. You can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes.
