The Hike is named after the Namo Buddha stupa one of the holiest sites for Buddhists in Nepal. Phulchowki is the name of one of the famous Hindu goddess. Many Hindu people make their pilgrimage tours to this site. This area is also one of the best for viewing some of the highest peaks in the World.
The highest elevation on this trek is 2765m/9065ft. Phulchowki is the highest of the mountains encircling the Kathmandu valley and is a sanctuary for many birds of Nepal and other wildlife. Regularly recorded resident species include Basra, Black Eagle, Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Kalij Pheasant, Common Hill Partridge, Ashy Woodpigeon, Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, Mountain Scops Owl, Collared Owlet, Golden-throated Barbet, Speckled Piculet, Crimson-breasted Pied and Rufus-bellied Pied Woodpeckers, Grey-chinned Minuet, and many more Phulchowki's forests are very rich in flora and butterflies. Mammals include Leopard, Yellow-throated Marten and Orange-bellied Squirrel.

Itinerary Details of Namobuddha Phulchowki Hiking
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport; hotel transfer (1350m/44260ft).
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel and then Hike to Namo Buddha (1720m/5640ft) [about 3 hours]
Day 03: Hike from Namobuddha to Balthali [about 5 hours].
Day 04: Hike from Balthali to Bebar Danda(2100m/6890ft) [about 5 hours].
Day 05: Hike from Bebar Danda to Phulchowki(2765m/9065ft) [about 5 hours].
Day 06: Enjoy bird watching at Phulchowki; trek from Phulchowki to Godavari; stay overnight at Godavari.
Day 07: Drive from Godavari to Kathmandu [about 1 ½ hours].
Day 08: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley (DurbarSquare, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath & Pashupatinath) and Nepalese cultural program with farewell dinner in the evening.
